Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Last weekend I was able to celebrate my amazing friend Amy Wilson's bachelorette party! I have known Amy since orientation weekend at Huntington. Our parents tried to "hook us up" as roommates and it worked! We have been part of the fab 4 ever since. I am so happy to be a bridesmaid in Amy's wedding. She and Steven are a good match for each other and I can't wait to see where life takes them. Happy bachelorette weekend Amy :)

Big Day
Sunday was Mother's Day and Colt's dedication at church. What a wonderful day! We have been wanting to dedicate Colt since he was born, but wanted all of our family to be able to be there. We are so blessed to have so many parents and grandparents that love us and Colt. We all got there early because we had 20 seats to save! We got a few dirty looks, but that's ok :) After church we had all the families back to our house to thank them and celebrate Mother's Day. My mom brought me a Hydrangea plant- which is what I used to get her for Mother's Day. Sue also brought me a plant for our table and Dad and Delaine got me a baby book for Colt. We also got a Bible for Colt and a life vest for lake time this summer. But the best gift was from Justin and Colt. Two weeks ago, Justin and Colt went to the Shane Co. and picked out a ring for me. It was perfect!! A while ago, my mom told me Mother's Day was the most important holiday to her because being a mom was so important to her. I didn't fully understand that until now. Mother's Day is so amazing. I absolutely love being a mom and I am so thankful for a husband and a son who love me. What a perfect Mother's Day- surrounded by people we love and dedicating my life to raising Colt to love Jesus.

Mini Marathon
Yesterday my dad and I ran the mini marathon. It was my first 500 festival mini (the largest mini in the world). My dad hadn't run it in 10 years and is 54 years old. I told myself that if he could do it, I could too. The day started off a little rocky- my alarm didn't go off, but we made it on time. I ran the race with Jodi and Ana. I slowed them down a bit, but after my last mini that ended so horribly (lots of tears and bllisters) I was determined to take this one slow and enjoy it. I cried as I ran several times thinking about my dad doing this and how hard he trained. And as I did the last time, each time I thought I was in pain, I reminded myself of my dad, the kids I worked with in the hospital and the families I was able to meet. No pain is anywhere close to what they endured. All in all, it was a wonderful day and I am so glad I could share it all with my dad. We had lots of supporters and Justin even had Colt out of his stroller as I crossed the finish to cheer for me- even in the rain! Thanks everyone.
pre-race good luck kiss
DONE!
We made it!!

Happy Anniversary
Justin and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary on Monday. Uncle Josh and Aunt Beth babysat Colt and Justin took me out to dinner. We went to Rick's Boathouse and it was so nice. They had people playing jazz music and we really enjoyed ourselves. We got done kind of early, so we went to Meijer- we are really cool- and then to South Bend Chocolate Company on the circle for ice cream. We were trying to stay out for a while and give Josh and Beth some fun time with Colt and spend some time just the two of us. When we went to get him, he was a mess. I felt so bad for Josh and Beth. Luckily, they still love him and said they would babysit again :) Oh- and the best part was Justin got me flowers! He hates buying flowers, but he knew it would make me happy. And he bought me tulips... I love tulips! He also got me a new running shirt because "I was tired of seeing you run in crappy clothes" and new shoes. I got him a massage and new golf shirt and golf shorts. It was a wonderful anniversary. I love you Justin!

Getting Close
This weekend Colt decided he was going to start scooting everywhere. He tucks his feet up under his stomach and pushes himself up on all four then he lunges at his toys. He can't quite steady himself on all four for very long, but he is getting so close. I just had to write it down before I forgot! I am sure our world will change drastically when he starts to crawl.
